When Kori Brown was just five years old, she was diagnosed with a serious blood disease that has continued to require frequent trips to an Indianapolis hospital. There, Kori was inspired to raise more than $35,000 for cancer research when she shared a room with a girl who is fighting leukemia. The Cowans' situation rapidly worsened when they had to contend with additional medical problems associated with the poor condition of their existing house. Now this close-knit family will be able to start a new, more healthy chapter of their lives in a safe, new home from United Rentals and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."
